The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof.
Dibu Ojerinde, has assured candidates and parents that some of the
issues experienced during the last UTME will not be experienced in 2017.
According to him, most of the logistic challenges were caused by those
given the responsibility to accredit examination centres because they
compromised the process.
He stated that the board will place more priority on centre
accreditation, before the commencement of all its subsequent
examinations.
“We shall insist on a thorough accreditation and put the machinery in
place that will ensure that accreditation meets our required standard.
“Some of these centres will invite us to use their centres, presenting
us with the state of the art facilities during the accreditation.
“But they later go ahead to replace these facilities with substandard facilities during the examination proper,’’ he said.
He equally pointed put that the workers implicated in the accreditation fraud have been punished accordingly.
